What is the point of Spitfire airbox?
Just curious, do they really do anything? There aren't any filters or anything in them, right?

I see the air boxes having two main functions; capture the spit back on the piston ported engines, and reducing the sound produced by the carb.

They also help creat a vaccum in the carburator to draw fuel through the jets. If you decide to run one without the airbox installed, you must rejet so that your air/fuel mixture stays optimal.
