They do plan to come out with more models on an annual basis, but I don't know in what order they are going to come out with them.

They are only going to be available through Deere dealers. Mine are also coming through a dealer.

Went to the dealer this past weekend to pick up the Blitz Black paint and I asked the dealer about this and he also declined to order these toys.

I ordered mine through Cazenovia Equipment Company in New York. So they are getting some. They have I think seven dealerships in New York. So if you live in New York I know they are getting some.

Just talked with a friend who just returned from the National Farm Toy show in Dyersville, IA this past weekend. He saw the John Deere snowmobile models at Lone Tree Creek's booth. He told me they are TOTALLY awesome! As every bit as nice if not nicer then Ertl's prescion classics models (for those of You who are familiar with them).

I looked over these 2 sleds in the pics and notice that the gas tanks are painted green, is that how these 2 particular sleds should be from the factory? Not silver gas tanks?

Danzig,
I worked at my dad's JD dealership when the '72 models came out (even bought a new 400) and every '72 model I've ever seen originally came with the fuel tank painted green. I believe the brochure for these models also show green fuel tanks.
I sure plan to get one, they look great. Unfortunately, they made a couple of errors; the photos show a flaired windshield with black trim ('72 models had chrome trim and no flairs) and a snow flap with yellow deere logo is also wrong (it should be plain black with no Deere logo).
BTW, '72 models did not come with snowflaps from the factory, they were options just like a speedo or tach. I added my snowflap a month after buying my '72. The "kit" consisted of a plain black flap (no logos) and a green strip of aluminum with yellow reflective stripe to hold it on.
