82 liquifire
Hey guys! Looking for the small shaft and two idler wheels that mount on the top of the skid-frame. Previous owner must have run with bad bearings as they wore through the bushings and actually into the shaft a little bit

Re: 82 liquifire
Thanks DA! Quick question, when we bought this sled the owner handed me that shaft and idlers and said it went with the sled. He told me that he put a replacement shaft and idlers in it. I looked up in there this morning and there is a shaft there with 2 idlers on it but the idlers are the older looking kind with the metal wheels and rubber tire sort of speak. They also look like they are smaller diameter than the black plastic ones and the track looks like it's rubbing or in contact with the little loop-like metal structure at the top of the shock mount. Should the track ride on this piece?

Re: 82 liquifire
Original upper wheels on the liquifire were the metal/rubber combo. The wheels are there to limit the drag of the track on the shock mount. Some contact is ok, but if any of the mounting brackets were moved along the way it could create additional drag which could lead to premature track wear. My guess is that it is ok the way it is and as originally designed with the wheels mounted on the rear swing arm. The slightly larger black plastic (ppd brand) wheels can be found in a variety of sleds (including Deere's) - they are typically mounted lower in between the rails near the front of the skid.
