Sure wish I'd have had that seat to race with. Much, much better than the 340/S seat.

Wade,

Great to see your sled running and on the snow. I would love to take a rip on it, but I don't want to curse it either:>)

Since the race was delayed, I spent most of time over the holidays doing firewood and laying hardwood floors. I did spend this weekend getting some work done on the I-500 Liquifire. I never had a chance to stud the track last year, and since I needed to pull the skid out anyway, it was easier to set it up on saw horses:

My buddie Joe Sherwood stopped down and lent a hand doing final button up on the motor:

I check all the bolts and marked them. Then I check the drain bolt. Then I torqued it. Then I checked it again...stupid bolt.

Before I hopped a flight back down to Texas, we had the track and chaincase back in, motor installed and started going through the rear skid.

Next time I come home, it should be a day or two of assembly work, then test and tune.

Mitch, that race Liquifire of yours sure look like a 79 Spitfire with all that custom green paint. Heck, if you finished on that sled, you would have beat 3/4's of the field last year:>)

Wade, I will fully admit that if 1982 sleds were allowed in the vintage class, my 82 Sprintfire would be pulled down off the shelf, and get gas shocks, a wheel kit and juice brake installed. Cat Bearcat driven and ZR drive, with 7 tooth sprockets tested vs. the stock 8 tooth, just to see what she would do. They have 7.2" of rear travel and weigh nothing. 35 hp baby!

Not that I put much thought into it:>)

It might. The Amber's aren't known for maintaining the straightest skis.
