Appears as if the Spitfire is the harder to find 1982.

How many 82 spitfires were made? I know they are the harder to find spitfires. I was lucky enough to find a good one for parts, then was surprised to find a 2nd 82 that only needed a clean up and a few things a few months later.

Not sure what the big craze is about the spitfires ?? Their sitting everywhere around here ! This must have been the famous "buy a tractor we give you a free sled ". This must have been the dealers choice. I think in the past years i have had at least 4 of the 82's several 80's and only 1 81.. I would say the 81 is the hardest to find with 2050 units built ? 82 there were 2099 according to productions numbers listed. I have passed on so many spitfires it isn't even funny. I just refuse to pay money for something that my kid can ride for 20 minutes then have to shut it off to cool down ! :bonk: :bonk: We just don't get cold enough to run them here. They are a really fun sled minus the butterfly carb. :bonk: Now as far as collecting I have 1 very nice 82 spit that i will keep to go with my 82 sprint and hopefully an 82 snowfire someday ! But that goes on the back burner until my 84 lineup is done ! :D :sled: :sled:

Find me a nice 1982 Spitfire. I have been able to dig up all the hard to find sleds in the last 6 years but cannot for the life of me find a super clean 1982 Spitfire. Dig around for one and let me know. Don't care about the seat as I have several NOS seats. I care about clean decals, clean hood, and straight chassis. I can even deal with a blown motor.

If you find one, please pass it my way.
