Anyone find any great treasures or deals at Waconia this year? Just curious...

I thought the swap was pretty minimal and at 1pm on Sunday the vendors were already packing up. I just posted that Deere sleds have grown in number and recognition over the past 4 years but at the same time I think the swap has gone the opposite direction.

Did the 83 and 84 Liquifire's sell?

I think the 83 Liquifire sold on Saturday along with an extra tunnel and by Sunday both 84 Liquifires that I had seen for sale, had sold.

I picked up a walbro WDA-32 i needed for $5. Took it apart while riding home in the truck and I couldn't believe it had every single part inside of it. I cleaned it up, put it on the sled and it fired right up for the first time since I've owned it these few months.

I bought a quite a few Dator parts. Most notably pipes and NOS Dator-Lite hood. I was really lucky I came across that stuff.

Yeah I definitely did. I forgot to mention that I scored a NOS Dator track too. Duramax Santa also brought me some parts I bought. When I get a second with no homework this weekend I'll post some pictures of the parts.

I bought an 80 sportfire. Thought I got a pretty good deal until I saw the sport from Utah Matt posted. Man, why can't I find those kind of deals! :bonk:

I am the owner of the Sportfire from Utah. It now resides in eastern Idaho. Thanks for your comment "liqiutisplit80"
I paid $600.00 for the sled, a beautiful original Deere cover, and a one place trailer. This is my personal museum piece. It had 331 miles on it when I got it. I rode it 3 miles in my back yard and got it up to 50 MPH and then parked it. It will never be ridden again. I have waxed it 3 times now. I'd better stop before the paint rubs off

NOS Power bloc for the 25mm cranks and a box of cleats for the 2/3 Deere tracks. A few other small bits but nothing too great. I should have bought the moto ski with the Sachs 340c motor in it but I would have had a hard time getting it in the Jetta.

You took a walbro apart while in a truck on the road? Gutsy move! I would have had little springs falling all over the place!

Good decision. There's plenty of others out there for ridin. Still would be nice to see it at a show every now and then, like maybe Waconia??

I still think we could have fit it in with the help of a socket set

Found a couple new dimmer switches at reasonable cost for the early series, not original but will fit and they are functional. Some Walbro gasket kits, but most of the good stuff I bought was pre arranged. This board is an excellent way to network, and buy and sell parts.

Since I have never been to Wisconsin except Cuba City in the South-west corner, I don't even know where or even what Waconia is except little pieces of tidbits of everyones comments on here. I guess it to be a swap met and vintage sled show that happens yearly. I am 1500 miles west of Dubuque. Iowa. I would love to come to Waconia but distance would be the problem, but never say never. :naughty: I just may show up someday
I ride Ski Doo sleds and went riding with my 10 year old son on a 115 mile ride today. We only have to drive 21 miles to dump off the sleds and away we go. :sled:
