CCW 400 Compression

Post by SHOOT DEERE IT IS »

I have a 71 Skiroule with a CCW 400 in it. How much compressions should it have. My tester shows over 200 per side. Sounds a little high to me.

Maybe some one put 340 heads on it? 200 psi is a lot.

have the cylinders been oiled? I've seen 190's before if the rings were just oiled. Once it runs, it will loosen up a bit.

The CCW 400 runs very high compression.
I have tested them up to 215 psi without oil.

The 340/440 are not like this , only the 400.

You must use premiem fuel in this engine.
And hold on tight to the recoil ....and the handlebars.
