I-500 update

Post by sledcollector »

At the awards banquet last night in Grafton,ND they said they don't think the I-500 is goimg to happen this year.
Due to no snow conditions. One alternative is possibly a one day racein North Dakota. It would be about 125 miles.
Not alot of details yet,There will be an anouncement at the end of the week.Keep posted on Uscc web site.
Hate to be bearer of bad news but just giving a heads up of what they told us.

Thanks Rick. I'm tired of looking at brown fields and moderate, dry weather reports hoping for the best. Unfortunately, I think calling it is probably the best option at this point.

USCC said they have to let the casino know by end of the week and not enough snow in he forcast. They did'nt give alot details yet.one possible location is by Oslo,Mn ,north of Grand forks were there is some snow.Nothing was said about vintage or any other class. One again nothing defenite check website.
Good weekend for us though.7 podium finishes in Phillips,Wi and Grafton,Nd.We blew a belt on our liquifire in vintage in Phillips,Wi.A trailfire took 3rd.
Fun new crosscountry circuit in Wi.Check it out corpowersports.com
They are having a race in Cable,Wi March 3rd.They have a vintage class a every race.Pretty laid back this year.
The rules for vintage are under 600cc and leafspring suspension.Thats it.Pretty low cost for guys wanting to try vintage .Need more more Deere's.Just us and a trailfire this last weekend.Lot of cat and polaris

I just talked to Todd from Cor PowerSports on the Cable race Mar 3rd. Sounds like alot of fun! Around 7 mile course on the cross country ski trails, 3 laps for the vintage class, 2 to 3 foot base of snow!!, the whole course is 10 to 30 feet wide, plenty of room for passing. The only rules for vintage class is 600cc or less, leaf spring front, and working teather. He just didn't get around to changing verbage that says 440 liq/500 fan. I am gunna try to make it.

That deal up at Cable sounds interesting. My back might still be able to handle 21 miles of pounding on a vintage Deere. Not ready this year but if they do it again next year I would like to give it a try,

The NY 100 is cancelled also, but the Maine 100 on March 17th should be a go. I think they are going to offer a vintage class too. The NY Posse is planning to go, both vintage and modern sleds.
