Post by cledussnow77 »

Hey guys I know it's a longshot :think: but I'm looking for a Kelsey-Hayes brake assembly for my 340/s :pray: , I just started the project so I'm in no hurry but just wanted to have a bunch more eyes helping me look. Thanks everyone. :beers;

Ed I am in no ways familiar with these units but there was 1 listed on VS yesterday or the day before that came from a skidoo ?? It looked like the same thing that would be on a 340/s sled ???? I'm guessing the caliper may be different ?? May be worth a peek ! :usa:

They do show up from time to time as they were used on many different cross country sleds, but you got to be quick...there are a lot of kh brake whores out there. Good luck!

I have been lucky to score one K&H master cylinder off ebay in the last three years. I still need a caliper for my 340/S myself. Keep your eyes pealed.

You'll have competition, they aren't all that plentiful, and there are styles other than what was used on the Deeres.
Also, be prepared to pay what you can buy complete sleds for.

There around you just gotta look for them. This winter I scored 2 complete setups in one week. One trough trade and one I bought. Like I said, they"re out there.

Ed, what component are you missing. I thought your picture showed the master cylinder, lever, cap, etc.??

I need the master cylinder assembly and the handle grip for that side, the cap was the only thing good.

There's a guy on ebay that sells handles, but they aren't the correct looking ones BUT if he's repoping them maybe you could get him to repop a bunch for the Deere's??
I would take 3 or 4

If you need the grip, you can re-make a Cyclone grip into one. Troy did one I had for the "Make a Wish" 340/S.

Just an update, I did find a brake assembly :dance: , was a little pricey but not all that bad. Thanks, now I need a handle grip cause I don't have any extra so if anyone has a spare set let me know how much. Thanks again. :beers; Ed
