Looking for a Liquidator handle bar/steering column (grips not necessary). A question I have: are the trailerfire handlebars the same? If so I would be interested in that as an option?
Thanks so much
Matt

Re: Wanted Liquidator Handle bar/steering column
Matt, I have a repopped set of Cross Country Bars if your interested in that style.. $175.00 + Shipping, They are made with Chrome Molly tubing, & are painted black now so they didn't rust but could be Powder coated.
I'm not sure IF the price of any new ones I do will go up or not for 2012-2013 as I don't know how much Chrome Molly tubing has gone up, so this is the only set I have now that will stay at this price..

Thanks Kenny. I am sort of interested but I do like the loop look on the Liquidator handlebar. Could you email me a picture of what they look like so I could compare looks.
Have a great day.

Re: Wanted Liquidator Handle bar/steering column
Matt,
The original Liquidator handlebar is one piece and non-adjustable. The Trailfire/LF/SF bar looks simular, but is two piece, has a lower stearing shaft that mounts defferently. It also has a two piece aluminum clamp at the top of the stearing post to mount the yoke style bars into. This would be difficult to adapt to a Dator.
Kenny's bars are repops of the factory option, straight CC racing bars that Deere released for the 77 model year. These are more of a "T" shape. If you can't find a set of original bars, this is probably your best option.
I hope this helps,
-Joe

This isn't exactly what you are looking for but it may help. This is a 77 Liquifire with a set of fire series bars on it. I like the looks plus they are adjustable which is a nice feature. Enjoy......Terre

Terry,
Thanks for posting! To correct myself, I should have said that Trailfire bars can be adapted with some fabrication. I am assuming you cut the top off the Fire series stearng post and welded it to a cut off 76-78 LF post. That fit, and the rest of that sled look great.

Re: Wanted Liquidator Handle bar/steering column
I understood your post Joe, you were looking at it from welding the Traifire bar directly to the 77 steering post, which is different than what I did, and probably a little more difficult. For mine, you are correct, I just cut the top of the Trailfire steering post off, and the top of the 77. Then I welded the top of the Trailfire post to the bottom of the 77. It's not what Matt wants to do, but it might help if he can see what it might look like minus the bracket. I'm not sure what the difference is between a Dator handle bar and the Trailfire, but by looking at the pictures, I can see there are some differences.
P.S. I still need those parts for my 80 project, if you have some time to look them up the next time you are back from TX, I would appreciate it. I am also looking for two of those rubber covers for the push button switches, kill and headlight dimmer, if you have any.

Re: Wanted Liquidator Handle bar/steering column
hey Matt Left Hander chassis in roscoe or rockton IL could make up what you need if they bend that small of tubing. They made a roll cage for my friends dune buggy it was less than a 100 bucks and i am going to weld it for him. If you want to have it look exact. If you need any welding done on it bring it down and i can get it done for you.

Re: Wanted Liquidator Handle bar/steering column
Thanks for all the insight guys. I might have found a pair but if that does not work out, I certainly have a couple options: the fireseries procedure or contacting the folks in IL about bending a pair.
