Thank You !!!

Post by WinnipegStPaul9 »

The board's slow this weekend so I'm going to take time to thank all the veterans who've made life better for all of us. I served in the Indiana Air National Guard for eight years and my only claim to fame was in 1969 we were assigned to the Air Guard base in Boise, Idaho. I'm very proud to say that in the two weeks we were there, no foreign enemy attacked Boise................Your welcome!!!

All kidding aside Don...
I have the utmost respect for anyone in the military.
My soon to be brother in law is in the Guard and just got back from Iraq about a month ago. I don't think he understands how much us civilians appreciate what the military does for us. :usa:

On a related note, my family and I went to St. Germain this weekend. On top of a good show, I got three of the exact things I was looking for (thanks Craig for the dual Mikuni intake, it fits the 440 I got from Mr. Amber perfectly!)
What I wanted to say though was I was very proud of the state of Wisconsin!
I hate to say it, but living here in the Twin cities there is nowhere near the amount of patriotism I saw this weekend.
Every town with any population to it (and even some that didn't) had some to-do for Memorial day.
Even many of the radio stations had special concerts!
Made me proud to be an American.
...Wisconsin, take a bow...you've earned it.

When you say WIs-con-sin, you've said it all.

I am just fishing with that one to see if anyone knows the story.

I had the honor of being invited to attend an ROTC commissioning ceremony a couple of weeks ago. Damn near brought a tear to my eye. Seriously. To see 43 young men and women who have already committed their schooling lives to the military, and now are embarking on active duty and guard duty revives my faith in at least some of society. To see the active and retired NCO's with arms full of stripes and chests full of hardware makes me feel rather unaccomplished...

A big thank-you to all who serve and have served.
