Even IF OEM style dator rods are repopped in the future, THE NEW STYLE 18MM bearings will work, as because the ID of the bearing is 18 mm the OD will be the same as the ID of the OEM Dator rods. I think that IF Wiseco is offering the bearing then it must be for something popular Maybe for a bike or water craft if not for a snowmobile. I'll probably get a few extra bearings anyway just for trading material down the road as they probably don't cost that much anyway, Probably between $10.00 to $15.00 ea..
I'm not sure which part number Bearing Wiseco is proposing to furnish but one 18X23X22 is used by Polaris with Fuji engines on 94-98 Indy Storm 800, 96-98 680 Ultra, 99-02 800 XCR. 90-97 650 Indy, RXL,SKS & EFI, 84-97 600 & 680 cc's engines, 86-04 488, 500 & 550cc engines, 73-99 400 & 440cc engines.
Arctic Cat 96-00 600 & 696 CC 3 cyl.s, 76-01 ZR440, 530cc Tigre, 5000 Tigre, 6000 series, 76 - 01 lynx 2000S, & 440 LC engines.
So I would say this bearing will be around a while..

hello guys,
i need some help. i have been running this 18 mm pin and bearing through my mind and have this very slight thought..."what if we're wrong about the measurement of the rod end for the od of the wp bearing". close doesn't count here, this is new ground, and any error blows this project. i want to be able to sleep at night and not wake up thinking about this.
could someone please measure the pin end of the rod out to the hundred thousandth and give me the diameter.....or does someone have the original specs for this? my contact at Wiseco got back from vacation and i mentioned my trepidation and we talked about physically sending a rod to him or forwarding the measurement of the rod to him.
you can leave a message here, email me directly, or call me with info.
i'm hoping several guys can do this so we can have it spot on........thanks for the help,
certifiable Larry

thanks guys,
i'll contact them tomorrow with your information. i appreciate the help. in about a week i will place the order....i'm guessing there will still be guys wanting a few oversize pistons....and a small group with 19 mm pins. i'll make adjustments to get the right mix and extra rings for both also.
looking good.....please spread the word so we get as many on board as possible this trip.
thanks again,
certifiable

Hey Larry I had talked to you last month about the pistons and possibly finding a gasket set and i found three so i would like three sets of pistons and two extra sets of rings if that's not a problem.

Thanks, Brian

hey guys
the 18's will fit the bill for the liquidator piston project. am going to PLACE THE ORDER TOWARD THE END OF NEXT WEEK. sounds like most guys want standards but you will have to let me know of ANY INTEREST IN OVERSIZE?.... 0.20.
also......any interest in 19's (pins) at all???..........without wrist pin bearings.
and while i'm here....without getting ahead of the game.....how much interest is there in 340/S pistons???..........but remember, the focus now is on the LIQUIDATOR PISTONS.

thanks,

Larry, I Need at least 3 ea. of the Std. Dator pistons with 19mm pins & whatever # I said before for 18mm pin ones?

Also I would be interested in at least 6 of the 340/S pistons..

Have you come up with a PRICE ea. for this run of Dator pistons yet? Or was this mentioned before & I missed it somewhere?

Thanks a million for doing this again

When Chuck asked about the interest in 340/S pistons a while back, it looked to me that 50 sets was a ball park figure right now.

Larry or Chuck, It would be a nice touch if you continued with Chucks column of who is ordering what & what pin sizes as far as relating to Dator pistons, extra rings, & Pin bearings, then we can make sure that you guys have the purchasers orders correct & when the time comes how much was paid.

Just a thought
