Re: Liquidator pistons
thanks for the note, sledder670
wasn't up to speed on this one since it was not available when other pistons were produced. i contacted Wis and am waiting for a call back.
if the Armorglide (tm) is available for these pistons......HOW MANY GUYS ARE INTERESTED IN IT............???
i had planned to place the order tomorrow but now will have to wait a short time until we get this ironed out.
talk it up amongst you guys so i get an idea of what you want. pricewise, an educated guess would put the piston sets at approximately 255 if Wis can do the Armorglide. (note...approximate) and i will find out if the order can be split for Armorglide vs non Armorglide.
ok.....get back to me.
certifiable........once again, my email is houge@mnstate.edu and cell is 701 261 8214 if i don't answer, please leave a message when best to get back to you.
oh....i found out recently they have to order and produce the forgings first (they don't have them readily available for special projects and also want to get a number before ordering the slugs) and then make the pistons.....puts it at six weeks.
please get back to me re this new wrinkle so i can get the order placed.
another thing.....those wanting rings, please let me know if you want std or oversize (to fit earlier Wis pistons)
ok.......that should cover it for today.......later then.

Re: Liquidator pistons
Larry.......When we first started talking about the re-poped pistons, I was trying to keep everything simple. Standard pistons with 19 mm bearings......
Now we have:
18mm or 19mm
standard or oversize
extra rings standard or oversize
Armorglide or non armorglide
quantities of each
Just seems like a lot of room for errors with some folks getting upset. Just my opinion but i could not be expected to get all this stuff right.
Just saying "keep it simple and make things easy for yourself"
Chuck

Re: Liquidator pistons
no argument from me re keeping it simple. i guess i think i have to try to throw the options out there as they come up and then depending on response pare it back to something workable....and not cost prohibitive.
having said that, does anyone have one or three first run pistons with 19 mm pin and bearing.....for Kenny.....so that things get evened up for him? no one else has shown interest in the 19 mm setup) and it is tough to justify making a minimum run of the 19's. that would solve one problem.
Wis did not get back to me today so i think that Armorglide may be reserved for large piston runs. if they COULD do it, well, there may be benefit but i can't do it for one or two people...sorry about that.
i know that i can't please everyone's desires but will give a go toward getting the setups that will please the most people and not get wild with costs.
thanks....
certifiable Larry ..........and now you know why i chose the handle "certifiable"....lol.

Re: Liquidator pistons
Larry, If I'm the only one looking for a 19 mm pin piston & for only one piston don't worry about it, someone will need one first run Wiseco piston at some point, so I'll get my money out of it then..

Re: Liquidator pistons
Kenny..............I will split that with you. Or just sell me the one you have. Doesnt matter to me
Larry... If the 18mm will fit the standard conecting rod than i dont see why that run should not be made.
Just giving us options proves that your Certifiable......Thanks Larry

Re: Liquidator pistons
19 mm problem taken care of.......thanks guys.
the order for the run will now be sent in first of the week. std's and .020 over will be ordered with the 18 mm pins and bearings. will also order std and .020 over rings....and yes, the same type/style of rings will be used as in first run so they will be interchangeable.
Talked with Wis about Armorglide today. Made arrangements so that pistons can be sent in and plating applied for about 11 bucks per piston.
that should about cover it....still time to order or change order....or add rings.....let me know.
thanks,
Certifiable Nutso
