81 Sportfire

Post by DeereKid9 »

A guy called me tonight about an 81 Sportfire that he wanted to sell. He was going to check the VIN and Man date for me and send pics.
Here is what he could tell me about it. It ran 5 years ago when he put it away (raise your hand if you've heard that before), it has elec start, it has been inside its entire life under a cover (aftermarket cover, I asked already).
Questions I have:

1) Anyone have pics of a nice one to compare to?
2) What is it worth in below average condition? ( I am speculating on condition)
3) Is anyone interested if I went and got it for you?

Oh, and the year may not be right, he just remembers that is what the seller told him when he bought it.

Thanks,

Bob

I know that $250 will not get it. That is what I told him it was worth to me and he said "NO". But, I didn't slam the door on the deal and asked for the pics.
So, we'll just wait and see.

Oh, and sorry about Lance. Ha.

Bob. I jsut picked up an 82 sportfire complete minus primary for $80. It all depends on condition and how bad you or someone else wants it? ? The 81's still retain the cleated track. Just my opinion but $250 would be tops for me to pay! Its not an 83 or 84. Its an 81 should be. more out there to be had for a cheaper price? But like i said condition is everything! Just saying!

I agree with you all on price. I am just waiting on pics to reveal a sled as nice as smitfire's then I will be open to negotiations.

Codebluemi- Humor is what I meant- Sorry that you had to put up with Lance. I like Lance alot and he has helped me out alot. No disrespect towards him did I mean.

If the sled is in the right condition, I may have interest.
