I have decided to scale back the time I spend on snowmobiles, at least for the next year, or two. For the last three years it's been my main focus, parting out sleds and restoring them. Unfortunately my daughter and I are the only ones that like to ride, and given the lack of snow here in Southeastern Michigan we are moving in another direction, personal watercraft. Last year I purchased two pretty used up watercraft, nursed them back to running condition, and ended up spending just about every weekend at the lake with the whole family. All four of my family members had a great summer, so I want to liquidate a couple of sleds and upgrade to some newer watercraft. I'm going to let the 77 Liquifire go, and the Sportfire. As of right now, I have one interested party in the Sportfire and they will be making their final decision after they see it at the show. If they don't take then it will also be for sale.
I'm going to start out at $2500 (ouch!)for the Liquifire, and $1500 for the Sportfire. And yes, I know, I may be high on the Liquifire, but, I can always come down, but I can't go back up, so that is the starting price. I think it's an awesome looking sled, and it's a one of a kind, even though it's just a Liquifire. I wanted to give everyone here first shot, after the show we will be making more of an effort to sell the sleds. Opinions are always welcome, but please be kind. And come on down to the show and take a look, I think the quality of the sleds is a direct reflection on the price.
If by chance I can't sell the 77, I will be offering the 80 Liquifire for sale, once completed. Starting price will be $2000. Either way I will be selling two sleds.
I will continue working on sleds, my next project, the X8 is still a go, but I am pushing the completion time back to next summer/fall time frame.
I'm also going to finish what I started on the covers, but it will have to wait until later this fall, or early this winter. I have too much going on right now to devote any time to them. Sorry for the delay.
Thanks....Terre

I hear where you are coming from, for the last three years I’ve said I’m scaling down, weeding out, whatever you want to call it. But every year I end up with more than I started with. If I sell two, four show up! But I find I’m selling the lower quality sled for a nice original one, or better condition one. You know how it is, thats why I sold the X8.

Thought a little bit more about the price on the 77, dropping it down to $2k. If interested please let me know. I am going to start listing it on other sites this weekend.

Re: Scaling Back - Selling Sleds
After going back and forth, over the last few months, on selling the Liquifire, i have made a difficult decision. But, with the help of other sled owners I have come to the realization that this sled really isn't ready for sale, and I am not ready to let it go. I'm sorry for the confusion, but in talking with some fellow vintage sledders, both Deere and other brands, I am going to hold on to this one for at least another year. i would really like to get some seat time on it to test and tune. I apologize for the confusion, and thank those at the show today for giving me some straight answers to my questions and for giving me their honest opinions and advice. Thanks again....Terre
