eBay LC Kawasaki head

Post by nick80lf »

Anyone see this sell on eBay and know what it was used on? Someone suggested to me that it might have been used on one of the Cat sno pro sleds.

Anyone seen one of these before?

Hi Guys,

I was high bidder on that head, but was in the truck for two days and forgot to bid. I helped Tom Rowland try to ID the head. It was not a Cat part, was not Kawi Shark, and was not Deere. Tom thinks it was an expermental part from Kawi R&D.

Cool part though...(From my truck on the way home from Hay Days still...with Brock driving...)

Dustin, I am surprised your sleepless body didn't fall into a auger never to be seen until until next years Wonder Bread comes out. Good to see you...I think...

in my opinion its a watercraft head. I have been parting out a few waverunners this summer and some kawi's. They have all been monoblock cylinders with one piece heads. Not sure 100% though and these waverunners all have similar acorn nuts on the heads as well this picture is from a 1995 750cc twin i am tearing apart now. But guessing it maybe from an older stand up or something they made a 440 and 550 stand up. still could be a prototype but hey we will never know.

Tom checked on that too, but said it's not watercraft. It looks like the 77 era Suzuki 340 Z or CCC motor with that top tank. Since we could not find an application, the assumption is some experimental hardware...

The seller, Tom Rowland, is very well connected at Cat. He was told it was not a Cat part. Best he could come up with was that it's a Kawi R&D part out of Shakopee. It was not used in Kawi's Sno Pro effort either.

So, its still kind of a mystery piece.
