They've gone up a bit for the better quality puller.. But in no way shape or firm will a jaw puller work to pull a primary without major damage.
I have used them in stubborn secondary clutches, but very carefully not to bend the sheaves.
I use the grade 8 bolt and hyd fluid all the time.. Works great and is pretty safe, use Teflon tape on the threads and leave the fluid 1/2" from the top of the threads
Where is the clutch removal thread?

Lowes and Home Depot are worthless when try to find bolts. I can never find anything at those places. I'll have to try a local business to see if they have some bolts that will fit.

Your local Farm Supply store will have grade 8 bolts as would most farm implement dealers.

Re: Where is the clutch removal thread?
as mention you can use a Grade 8 bolt easily purchased from Ace Hardware, Deere or IH or other Ag dealers, I use a impact deep socket that fits loosely in the hole as a spacer & still sometimes use fluid along with it, I use 80-90 gear lube as the fluid of choice, messy but won't slide by the threads as easy.. Also an impact wrench is usually a must. Sears now has 19.2 volt battery powered impact wrench for under $100.00 if you don't have a good air supply to run a air one..

Re: Where is the clutch removal thread?
I went and got about a 2 inch 9/16" x 18 bolt for about $3.50. Put some hydraulic fluid in the hole, Teflon tape around the screw, and a ratchet wrench. Was really easy to do. Barely even had to work. Really loud pop, though, when it came off. I probably only had the screw in a half inch when it popped off. I filled the hydraulic fluid pretty high, though.
Thanks for the help!!!

Re: Where is the clutch removal thread?
IMO that's still the safest way to pull a clutch, even a correct puller can damage the inner threads and you back to hoping you can find to correct tap for it... That being said where I live I couldn't find that fine thread bolt anywhere but a specialty store and it was like $15 so not much less then a knock off puller
