Horicon Joe engineered a solution to allow easy access via the seat and fuel tank with standard flanges. It involves bolting the seat / fuel tank retainer brackets to the tunnel in lieu of the standard rivet fasteners. Pull the seat, brackets, fuel tank, and suddenly there's lots of room to operate. He used some sort of fastener to retain the bolts in the tunnel, but my brain housing doesn't recall that item.
