Don't believe this sled should stay local but think they should all come back to the States, every last one of them.... There, that should get my Canadian Friends going. :lol22:

What are you thinking you want out of the sled at auction? condition from the pics, wrong motor (kind of a biggy) I would say in the $800-$1000 range??

Hi Guys,

The market will ultimately determine the value of Stratychuk's sled. I agree that the Liquifire motor significantly reduces the value, but many of the other hard to find parts specifice to the Dator are there, like the pipes, radiator, track and skid.

If I had to guess, I would say it will probably sell for 2X of the above estimates, but that is up to the bidders to decide.

Mike, when are you listing her on eBay? Free delivery to TX? (Just kidding!)

Even with the wrong motor, Like Joe says, all other hard to find parts are there and it still has a motor and she runs. It would be a good sled to clean up and ride as is. I,m thinking this sled will go over the $3000 mark. Good luck Mike and thanks for locating this great sled.........

Your willingness to assist in delivery or arranging delivery is a great asset. It makes it even more desirable. Great job.

"Keep it local" thinking would sure limit the market and price for the seller. If that happened, there would be a lot fewer vintage sleds in Canada, including a couple nice 84 Liquifires. I've seen a lot more sleds and parts going north than I've seen coming south. Just sayin......

What is the definition of local anyway? If I drive seven hours north west of me, I am still in the Province. If I drive seven hours south east, I leave Saskatchewan, pass through Manitoba, North Dakota, and end up in Minnesota. You have to take "perodies" comments with a grain of salt, he suffers from Merc poisoning and I know some of his sleds have come from non local sources. :lol22:

Great sled ...... I'm not sure but I believe the pipes must have been cut in order to line up with the liquifire motor? I have seen a number of them like that.

2 different JD sled heads have had their head deep under the hood. I tried to take a decent pic to show the neck of the pipes. There appears to be nothing wonky on the exhaust. Either that or the previous owner was an amazing fabricator, because his sence of style and painting abilities are a little off. :lol22:
