I do not know for sure what Deere used, maybe someone with a parts book can answer that.
I would think some basic grade 5s would suffice.
Question? Did your bogie shaft bolts have the little tin keepers under them?
After the bolts are tightened, the keepers are bent up against the head to keep it from loosening from the movement of the suspension.
Mine were pretty much shot, so I made new ones out of sheet steel.
I also had to repair the attachment tabs for 2 different bogie shafts.

Brian, yes I had the tabs under each one. I found them to be in good shape. They were easy to bend down and aren't broken or weak.
I am going to take the track off of the donor sled today. Hopefully I'll get what I need off of that to make one whole one.
I did get an email for the carb kits, I'm going to pick up two of them. My contact has 12 of them so if you want one let me know.
