If you still have throttle block, lock tight brand epoxy works well holding them togather. When it hardens, sand and paint it black. It is not perfect, but it will get you on the snow. Sled looks great, and have fun with it. Later. Lincoln

The throttle block was in pieces and was missing them to unfortunately it wasn't savable.

Bob at Image (715-479-7427) had a few NOS several years ago, today?? Doubt it, but it may be worth a phone call. They were very expensive so I repaired mine.

Thanks I contacted him and he did have them but they are a bit pricey. I might have no choice.

Good you found one at Image. As you may know, they were a high failure item, more so on 80/84 LF than other models of that vintage. It was almost like some of them were "pre-cracked". They typically fail through the thin section above the handle bar hole or at the lower set screw. I replaced a couple of them or more on warranty back in the day. Then some 25 years later, bought another 80LF, and you guessed it, the throttle block was broke. I fixed it with epoxy and some aluminum plates, both throttle and brake. If you get a good one, it may be a good idea to re-enforce it. Epoxy and screw the the plates on, paint black, never to be seen.

Some more progress, I tried the aluminum foil trick on the handlebars and it worked great I also, Put the carbs back together and installed them along with some new fuel line. I also got some plastic cleaner and cleaned the gas tank and what an amazing difference. Don't mind the green electrical tape haha.

What's the aluminum foil trick you speak of? Your tank looks awesome as well, what did you use. I usually use hot water to clean, then I use stuff called frog juice, from a bike shop. It works well, but it only lasts a couple months. Later lincoln

You dip aluminum foil in the water and you rub the chrome and it takes off the rust flakes. it only works with light surface rust. Also on the tank and dash I used plastic restore by turtle wax is it the same stuff for restoring black plastic on cars.
