Well...........we got snow.............too damn much. I also ran out of gas, couldnt get out of town, waited till the snow let up, finally got out of town to get gas in my truck. Got back to sled which is sitting along side the road, added gas and fired her up, then proceeded to get home and then once at home I got buried in about a 3 foot drift and its still there. Now I am at work. Have a crew of 50 guys, and only 2 of us have shown up. We got about 14 inches or so. Suns out now. Oh my aching back!!
More to the story also. After burying the sled into the 3 foot drift, I worked on unsticking the poor X8 for almost 2 hours and have gotten nowhere. Sled took a beating, I smoked the drive belt.
The choke cable is now also stuck, when it sat along side of the rode, the snow built up on the old gal very quickly, this caused the cable to freeze up.
Still at work tonight and wondering how I am going to get this beast unstuck. Sad part about this whole snow event is that I only rode the sled for about 300 feet and all this happened. If you guys can recall the last ride of last season I had problems getting above the 30mph range, I still may have this same problem. Alot of work to do before the HOF event.

GOTTA LOVE THAT TWO STROKE SMELL
Something very bad I think happened. She will not run hardly at all. The choke has to be full on in order to start it and keep it running. I fiddled with the carb adjustments and nothing improved. I pulled the carb off, shoved a rag in the intake and covered the old gal up. I think my season could possibly be over already. I noticed a very lean condition obviously, the exhaust coupler where I usually have a drip of oil/fuel mix is now burned off and clean. I havent pulled plugs yet.
Well, I got my trailfire out today. The ditches were awesome...tons of snow. I was really happy with the sled. (according to the speedo I got it up to 50 mph! and she still was pulling hard)
Gotta love the first ride of the season!!
Next I need to get the LF in the snow.
Paul,
How did the windshield fit? Did you get your LF out yet??
