Cool stuff Don!
I somewhat forgive you for racing a Polaris with that fancy front mounted motor and slide rail suspension. I don't think a 73 JDX-4 would have been as comfortable, although Jesse tells me one finished the I-500 back then.
One question though, why did you race a 72 Polaris vs. a 73 for the 73 I-500? Just wondering!
Thanks for posting, and glad you came around in 75, LOL!

Good question Joe. The simple answer is because that's what the dealer had to give me. His kid had done some oval racing the previous year with it. I think I have a picture of that too. I'll see if I can find it. Note that the sled had bogies in this picture. The Polaris dealer (far right) changed it to the slide suspension.JoeRainville wrote:

I think you all know that the name "Busco Bullet" came from a snowmobile naming contest. Here's the winning entry. This lady and her husband are very good friends and the reason we went to Dallas (in 108 degree heat) in July was to attend their daughter's wedding. DA

DA,
Next time you're in Minnesota, turn on channel 11 at 10:30pm on Sunday night. Ron Schara has had a show for about 15 years called Ron Schara's Minnesota Bound. Him and his dog "Raven" do a nice job showing new hunting products and new exciting places to hunt around the state. That's a cool thing for us Minnesnowtans to see where the guy began 36 years ago. Ron is becoming a Minnesota legend. Keep up with the history of the legendary Busco Bullet!
