What would be the grab bar? Are you talking about the back bumper? As in this part M67936?wycrumb wrote:70's LF, Cyclone, and Dator rear grab bar
80's Fire series Grab Bar
Hex Shaft for direct drive sleds
Hood Prop rod assy for the 75-78 sleds
Aluminum and Steel rod with tapped holes for fire series suspensions
Snow Flap Bar #M66848
If anyone has or could track down the part numbers for the exact parts that are needed that would be great.

Re: Poll, Re-pop metal JD parts
The chromed uprights for the optional back rests are often rusted out under the pad.
There are to different sets, one for the 600 and one for other models.
Plus L and R are different so that be a total of four different part numbers.
I have acually had to remove the backrest kits from a couple of sleds because the uprights were junk.

Re: Poll, Re-pop metal JD parts
Just keep in mind that you can't chrome metal that's missing ( rusted out ) I guess if anyone's interested I have a complete, used back rest with chrome bars. It's in .....ok.....shape. I'm not removing the backrest to see if there's significant rust though

If you started with chrome tubing it may be very easy to make with a set of jigs as the bends are not much.

Re: Poll, Re-pop metal JD parts
I second Wyatt's opinion on that.
Even the expensive chrome paint looks like chrome paint.
It is the stuff that DA has nightmares about.
I just figured that as the bends are not that tight that chrome tubing could be used on the uprights.

CAUTION: THE NEXT STATEMENT MAY BE OFFENSIVE TO SOME ( so get over it)
In my day we called it "Kentucky Chrome"

I think that is the same as Arkansas Chrome without primer Don.

Has anyone thought of re poping suspension cross shafts? These would be pretty simple. Most of them are 1/2" rod with tapped ends...
These seem to be something that should be in demand! I know I need a couple.
