Just an update. Still the trail has ended, and no leads as of yet. I joined ACSCC last week, and have got to say that they REALLY need some moderator help over at that site, as I still have not got my application approved and its been several days. I did confirm though that I actually sent in an application...lol. Finding this Snowfire is like you guys trying to find an illusive Liquidator. But don,t give up guys!!...Rob.

Hey Rob, I hear you on the ACSCC website. Very little action on there. They do however have a facebook page for the ACSCC which is a lot more active. Seems like all the posters on their website moved over to the facebook page. Here is the link:

Good luck in your search for the Snow Fire. I hope you are able to track it down and purchase it once again.

That is herrrrrrr!!!! My email at home has been going nuts. He is well above what I could afford to spend to buy it back though. Sold it several years back for $350 in the same condition!! Imagine that at $1250 now...Rob.

Rob,
Are you going up to Barrie for it?
It is your exact sled as you can see the old numbers on it.

Hi Dave. Yes that is my old Snowfire. Been trying since yesterday to contact this person (minutes after the ad was posted) and still no reply. I seriously think we have a game going on here and this person has seen my ad on kijiji. What are the odds of me running an ad in search of this particular sled, and not even a month later, right out of the blue, this sled shows up on kijiji for sale and asking more than double of what it is worth!! I haven,t got that kind of money for it, nor would I pay that kind of money for that particular sled (unrestored)!! So if this person is seeing this here, and anyone one in contact with the seller, I origionally sold this Snowfire several years back in the same condition (less the stupid looking windshield thats on it now) for $350. I m too old for this cat and mouse game if this is what we are playing. Anyone want a $1250 Snowfire, I am stepping aside on this one!! So no Dave, to answer your question, I am not going to Barrie to bring her home...Rob.

Don't loose faith, Rob. There are a lot of great people still out there. It just sucks that you have to come across an a**hole every once in a while.
I had a kid promise to hold two snowfire a for me last week, as they were a 7 hour drive away from me, just to have him sell them to someone else the next day!! :bonk:
I hope you find a nice snowfire to replace it for a good price.

Hi Guys. Well after a lot of long distance phone calls after my old Snowfire showed its face on kijiji, and a lot of support from fellow vintage snowmobile friends, I was able to come to an agreement with the seller, and bought my Snowfire back!! She is home and here to stay. It was an uphill battle all the way, but I won. It is going no-where!!...Rob.

Thats awesome to hear Rob!!! you'll probably sell a kidney if needed instead of the sled JK lol. It seems like with these old sleds they are sooooo very labor and time and money orientated, I myself Am working tons of overtime coming up now that the season is done to fund my next projects, but there is something to say about going out to the garage a cracking a cold one and lifting up the cover and just admiring them!

You are 100% correct with your statement. Before all this mess, I could spend hours putting on the 30th coat of wax on each machine...lol. My wife says I can do this but under NO circumstances can I take money from my paycheck!!, I must find a way and fund this on my own with extra work, and I totally agree as that is when its getting out of hand when I am neglecting my husband and father duties. My wife loves to knitt and crochet, I love my vintage sled!! I have my Snowfire back and it WILL be restored. The next will be a Sprintfire that I will buy and restore. That is all I need. I don,t know what it is, but these 2 models are my favourite of all the John Deere sled lineup. So Matt, make sure you save me 1 or 2 Snowfire/Sprintfire windshields, as I am going to need them if they are drying up!! Any word if Cannon will be ever making Deere windshields again? They sure where quality...Rob.
