Good news gentlemen! Tentatively it looks like Carlisle will produce the 69170 belt as a regular product. It will be available through normal Carlisle distributers. I will keep you posted as far as when the first run is made.

That's awesome. Wish other manufacturers would take a closer look at the vintage market. Way to go Carlisle.

They honestly did not know the Liquifire used a different belt from 82-84. When I had them make 170's a few years back I probably did not explain the situation to them properly. Don't worry, I am going to ask a favor from all the guys on this site in the next couple of days!

If the "favor" is a full on kiss from Joe Rainville I'll do the best I can but no promises.

I'd recommend a good hefty "belt" before that one.......

Peter,

That is great news. I bet they are a bit surprised to find out there is a demand for the M69170's 30 years after the fact. Thank for making the effort to get these done for us. I am still racing on the last batch you had made...

-Joe

PS: When I said "I would do anything" for an M67170 belt, I think Don missunderstood...

Thankyou for the kind words. I had to do it. too many guys pestering me about the belts! What about the Liquidator pistons and rods? Anyone know the status on them? Wiseco has dropped significantly their minimum run requirements. We have a very good relationship with them.

A run of Dator pistons was recently done. 340/S and 295/S are the ones that need to be made ( In my opinion ).

dator crankshafts have been a common discussion since ive been paying attention to vintage sled conversation , I would think that a fix to dator crankshafts would get many old girls off the dead row , be it rods bearings or crank halves , but yes 340/s and 295/s stuff would be great projects to have done as well
