82 Liquifire Restorations
Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
Thanks! didnt have a complete sled to look at for this between them. There is still a hose coming out the side of the airbox right? Have the metal filter but didn't see any thing else.

There is a rubber U shaped hose that mounts on the airbox

Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
There's also a large rubber washer on the outside of the air box where the hose mounts.

Have the rubber washer, just need to find the airbox hose now it seems.

Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
Apparently the younger generation is helping out by attaching the shop vac hose to the exhaust on the 782 Cub Cadet.
Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
Ha, wondering if someone would notice that. Realized he was doing that after reviewing the photo's Its a good garden tractor. I have been mowing with that since it was new

Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
cleaned the carbs and put things together. A bit surprised used the 10 year old plugs but fired immediately. It has a rhythmic erratic idle. Starts to 3500 RPM then revs to 5k RPM back and forth no signs of dyeing. Put new plugs on same issue. Both cylinders are firing. any thoughts on what to look for? Thinking of taking the other sleds carbs giving them a good scrubbing and trying them out. have to admit thougth this would not start and would have to fight it. First time complete engine rebuild for me Did have the airbox on when firing. Also all electrical seems to be working just as expected.

Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
ps the idle reminds me of putting a race cam on a 350 only at a higher idle.

Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
Do you have the rev limiter still hooked up? This could be causing the issue if the limiter is bad.

Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
Yes its hooked up. Can you just unplug it or do you have to do something with the wiring to bypass it

Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
Okay ! switched the carbs over, disconnected the rev limiter now runs like a champ. Now only thing i have left is to paint the hood, think will wait until after this winter. On to the sister sled.

Re: 82 Liquifire Restorations
yeah nathan sometimes those rev limiters are more of a hassle than useful. Mine is unhooked on my liquifire. Also on my sprintfire, it was causing the sprint to just sound like it was firing on one cylinder, unplugged it, immediate difference.
