Fix up??
Fix up??
I am just about ready to get the tank and seat mounted. My question is:
How do you run the brake light cable? Do you run it between the foam and plywood or between the plywood and tunnel?
Seems to me if ran between plywood and tunnel would cause seat not to sit flat on tunnel.
What is usually done in this situation?
Thanks,
Eric

Fix up??
Send me a pic (or if someone has the part #) of which hose you need, I may have a good one for you.
Fix up??
I believe the p/n is:
M67976
Its almost shaped like a S. Runs from coolant pump to bottom of heat exchanger. Runs down past steering column.
If you need any other information let me know or I can get you a pic.
thanks,
Eric

Fix up??
When i was building my 80 LF i went to my napa auto parts store and they had the hose i needed (water pump hose to heat exchanger) but it was longer and i had to cut it shorter. Only cost me 15 bucs. As for the seat I had two seperate peices of plywood one for each side then the tail-light wiring would go right down the center.
Fix up??
As for the wiring, if you put the wire between the wood and the foam you won't be able to lift the seat off with ease. You have to cut a groove in the wood so the wire does not get pinched, BUT don't cut it to deep, the wood will loose it's stiffness and the seat will look like it is suspended in air.

Fix up??
just leave wiring taped to tunnel use duct tape if you wish and put uncut or grooved plywood ( with air holes ) overtop just like stock they never did a thing to the wiring.
stock plywood is 3/8 with 9 3/4 air holes painted a chrysler engine blue (close match) dont forget the two wood nuts in rear for bolting seat down. 1/4 X 1in stainless steel bolts with anti seize on them to bolt down. using seat strap alone will get you a bent and broken taillight.
as for hoses dk trader has been trying to sell off a bunch of hoses check ebay. if not there polaris uses wacky hoses that change from year to year i have found simular hoses sections and trimmed to hose i need for sled.
they have a new m68140 hose listed right now ( goes from water pump to head.)
