Hey Don.
Just got kicked out the door about 2 hours ago by the NY POSSE at the end of the driveway.
Thanks VERY much for the phone call with regards to the heads up on the black ice near Madison - it was much appreciated since i was the one driving!
Thanks as well for posting the pic of me and my Trailfire!
Don, it was an ABSOLUTE DISTINCT pleasure to meet you and Bob this past weekend!
I'm pretty new to all of this but have been involved in MANY different organizations in my life.
I was VERY impressed and was NEVER made to feel SO welcome in my life more than by ALL of the folks I met this weekend (except the WI DNR dudes late Saturday night)
To any of you who have never met Don and Bob - be sure you MAKE the time to meet them if you are at a show and You know they are there. Two of the most friendliest, down to earth guys i have ever met!

You fit that mold also Greg. And you have a beautiful sled. I was admiring it Friday night before I knew it was yours. Good luck with everything you got coming up, and stay safe.

You do need to get new friends though.

hey guys, just got back from the ride home a few hrs ago. What an awsome time! Riding 150 miles in 7hrs including a full lunch stop, 40min fuel stop, and 20min drink stop was absolutely awsome! When they say ride with the champs they mean it! It was great to ride with carlson, doug and stan hayes, roger schime <-- (maybe spelled wrong) and everyone else. I would have to say it was the best single ride on the best trails I ever been on.

Some of the driving could be a bit stressful for everyone, With a total of a few thousand miles being put on the truck there is bound to be a few "incidents" First, joe decided to sideswipe a pickup truck in a parking lot with the trailer. Next Nick blew a tire on the trailer, so we needed a quick pit stop (nothing new on Joe's hauls) Trailer tires blow like clock work. lol
Then the driving got a bit dicey on the way home as I discovered while tracking the trailer across all the lanes of highway, while viewing the guardrail 4 different times in about 10 seconds. Needless to say we got a hotel room not much further down the road.
All in all it was a great trip that I will never forget. All of the people I met were awsome, friendly, down to Earth guys that have a passion for snowmobiles. Jon Carlson, Don and Bob Amber, Greg, all the other deere guys and "celebrities"
There is more to all stories, but i'll let the others tell some.

Some of the John Deere proto type drawings. These were at the HOF last year so I'm sure most of you have seen them.

Don Amber's racing helmet from back in the early to mid seventies. He passed it around the room and had everyone sign it. It was a honor to get to sign my name!

This is a very rare ABS 340/S hood that was signed by all the John Deere guys that attended Wanie's Thursday night. A true conversation piece!
