I want to know as well! :lol22:

I could save a lot of time if I didn't ever have to replace bearings.

Looks great, Paul. Everything appears nice and straight. It'll look terrific when you are done. Hey, Where did you find the Giter Done decals that you have on your trailer?

The sticker came from my plant manager here at work...he knows I have this shared sickness with you guys. I will ask him. I think e-bay has them possibly.

The plant manager's father in-law was the prior owner of my X8. Just an FYI.

Today was another interesting day. Thanks guys for the supporting phone call the past 24 hours. Todays adventure was the 102C clutch of my Liquifire...needless to say it was a day of learning and getting out the hammer for the back yard hammer toss...but the hammer was tossed today at work. Here are some pics of my adventure..

Now I found some problems with my 102C that will require an entire different clutch...this clutch I ran last year could have gotten the best of me and maybe some of you guys may want to check yours too...

In the first pics, take notice of the cracks on the webbing on the backside of the sheave, each leg webbing is cracked, I blasted it for you to see it better.

This is the face plate, I do not know if you can see the wear in it, you could place a cardboard match between the bushing and shaft..Junk also..

Luckily I have another Liquifire with a 102c clutch, the puller is on it right now and it wont budge..tomorrow it will for sure.

As for tearing down this clutch in prior pics...did you notice the grunt tool??? I didnt need one.

I have a large vice at work with brass jaws, I placed the fixed sheave between the jaws and tighten it down. I then got out the oxy/acet. torch and heated the top of the spider where it locates on the shaft, I got it hot enough where I saw smoke coming out the holes where the button are located. I then tapped moveable sheeve counter clockwise with a dead blow hammer, it didnt move by the way. I then took large channel locks and simply attempted to unscrew the spider and moveable sheeve, it spun right off, very easily.

Now tomorrow will be another day...I hope that clutch is good, Eric don't stop looking!!

Paul. That is quite typical of a worn 102. The movable sheave looked like it was from a 100, but I might be wrong. Anyone? Peter

Hi Paul,

Looks like you basically need a new clutch there! I will see if I have a complete one for a Kawi that isn't junk too...

I've worked on both 100s and 102s. I haven't got any tore apart right now, but I'm wondering what would be different between the fixed sheave of the 2 models, if any?

The moveable would have a fiber bushing in the 102, while the 100 had nothing.
