I'd like to say "Thank You Very Much" to I500 (Chuck) as it was my '73 JDX8 he rode for part of the trail ride. I have never met him before or any of the people from this site but that didn't matter.

After arriving at Waconia on Saturday morning at 7:30 and unloading my sleds, I rode over to the swap area and took a look around. I met a few guys from here and seriously thought about buying a very nice '72 400, but thought I'd wait. I went back to my truck and got ready for the 11:00 trail ride. I pulled up to a group of about 5 other JD sleds of which I500 was one of on his Liquifire with the signed hood. (I'm sure you have all seen this one) Chuck gave me crap right away wanting to know if I thought I would be able to keep up to everyone on my X8. Anyway, we started out and did the ride along the road and trails that took us back to the start where you could either continue the ride around the lake for 12 more miles or be done. We stopped there and waited a while, watching some of the other sleds go by and took some photos and general B.S.ing. Chuck told me I was doing fine in the keeping up part.

So as we were getting ready to continue on around the lake, Chuck asked me if I wanted to ride his Liquifire and he would try my X8 as he never had been on one before. I was pretty shocked and didn't think he was serious. After all, I have never met him before, he doesn't know me from anyone. But he was serious, so off we went with him on the X8 and me following behind on his VERY nice Liquifire. We went about 1/3 of the way around the lake and then switched back. That Liquifire is one NICE sled!

I would like to thank you for allowing me what I consider an honor to ride your Liquifire and to have you want to use my X8 out on the lake. Now maybe that may not seem like that much of a deal to some people, but it truly made my weekend at Waconia. It shows me that there are still decent people in this world that despite their backgrounds and differences can come together and share in something good and enjoyable. Even though we may not know alot of the people on this site we all share a common bond. We enjoy working on, riding on, and talking about these sleds. We all are doing our part to preserve a little bit of the past and have fun doing it.

Thanks Again Chuck!

I just want to say I had an exceptional weekend. It was nice to meet Chad, Sparcat, DL Deere, Howard, and Bottomsupduckclub and wife for the first time. Thanks for the fasteners Robb, good to see you. Craig, I love your 78 CC Liquifire. Good to see Tasky, Forrest, and the gang. Of coarse it was nice to see Chris Dozler. And last but not least Jesse, Dusty, Pat, Chuck, and Ramon. I'm glad the wife didn't quite catch what Kyle had to say about Saturday night at the room. :lol22: :lol22: . You know 9 year olds say the darnest things sometimes. :D Anyway I can't wait until next year. Duane

In case any of you missed it, here is a picture. I had to show my boys what the end goal of my next year will be spent trying to achieve (to help me justify to momma :snooty: the time, effort and cash!).

Chuck, sorry if any of the drool  didn't get wiped up.

By the way, many nice sleds on the ride and at the show. Good to see many familiar faces. Can't wait till next year. Im' gonna need all 350+ days to be ready...

Hey Guys,

The NY Posse is already planning to attend Waconia in 2010. Maybe I will have my 340/s done by then, and a 'secret project' or two. Going to try to talk Cari-Deerest into coming along with her Sprintfire also.

Wow,,,,,,,,,,,,,Chad , I thank you for the compliments and that means a lot to me, your too kind. It is me that should be thanking you for allowing me to give you a little crap and letting me ride your 8. Great sled and a blast to ride. As you implied, there is this bind that connects the Deere riders, I seen it. You ride a little and pull up next to somebody or a group on Deere sleds you dont even need to say a word. They just look, smile and give a thumbs up. No words needed and you now are friends with something in common. Just doesnt get any cooler then that. My sleds are always available for others to ride. Thats what they are there for. Anyplace, any time.

We pulled up next to these crazy characters with a very large Deere flag flying from the rear of there sleds. These boyz were grinning ear to ear. Next year i suggest them as the meeting spot before the ride. They are there every year.

I met so many guys from this board that i could not count them or thank them all. Most are lurkers but still from this board.

To everybody..........................................I THANK YOU

Yes, it was a heck of a good day Saturday in the swap area. I think there was a steady line from 8am-4pm
