Moto,

What helix are you running? All LF's use 44 deg helix's.

I'm not sure it's the helix that came out of it. There's a number in the casting that doesn't seem to match what's on my JD fine tune manual. Does anyone on here have a set of rebuilt clutches here they want to sell? Or would be willing to rebuild mine, set them up and return them? Thanks

Do you have a Lquifire and a Trailfire secondary clutch?

I wish I was a bit closer. I would gladly have a look at it

Maybe the spring has an issue?

Jackshaft bearings, drive bearings, track too tight????

Is the engine hitting on both cylinders?

Jack shaft bearings seem right, track is adjusted on the loose side, all the drive seems fit. Engine runs strong. I wonder if something electrical is going on here? It revs to 8 k no problem, nice and clean, but drops back to 6 k around the back shift. The motor feels strained at that moment, like it's being pulled down, feels like its firing good... But I don't know I've seen stranger things! I did recently out a new regulator on and get all the lights lit. Maybe the stator is giving out? Maybe I should unhook the lighting and try?

You still running the rev limiter on this?

Lighting coil should not be a factor.

Rev limiter is unhooked. That was my original problem when I bought the sled. I did however notice my sled is fussier to idle and occasional backfire when starting. This was immediately after hooking up the lights. I thought maybe because it's so freaking cold out. Idk, running out of ideas. I'd really like my clutches refreshed.

Update: I put the stock gearing back in and both clutches are back to performing great. Weird how it can't pull shorter gearing after the back shift.

That does not make any sense. You must have inadvertently done something else.

The only parts I touched was the gearing and replaced the jack shaft. I also double checked the offset of the clutches but I didn't need to make a change. Could the spring rates effect the gearing that much? I wouldn't think so but the bog is gone, 8000rpm all the way now.
