Oh, the engine temp gauge is a old trans temp gauge got ya, never noticed, however ken did say it never worked, engine never got hot enough to move it, the EGTs do work.
Ordered the correct temp gauge for it from new breed parts....
I picked up one 2 years ago in Southern Illinois with 651 miles on it. I can tell you mine takes about 8 to 10 minutes of idle running before the temperature will start to read. Just something to keep an eye on,the only trouble I have had is the bolts that hold the track drivers to the drive shaft at one time came out. It allowed the drivers to spin on the shaft so they now are loose and they will no longer hold a bolt with out losing them in about 20 miles of riding. My plan is to replace the original with a hex drive shaft and Dator hex drivers. Oh yeah one more thing, Pray you never have fuel pump issues. They are a mother to get to!

"If it has Tits, Tires, or Tracks it's gonna cost you money!"
New and proper temp gauge installed, new choke cable installed, new gas cap installed, carbs cleaned, gas tank flushed, mixed up a batch of 50:1, primed fuel system purrs like a kitten.
Gotta get a new speedometer, the house where the cable attaches to is broke off, the threaded nipple is inside the cable nut and get the seat done and we will be sitting good..
May get a video up yet..
Very pleased with this sled, so easy to work on compared to the 80's series machines.
That is a sweet sled you've got there!!! Let me know if you would be interested in summer storage. I've got a guy that stores his camper in my shed from November till march. I could give you a good deal. I would hate to see those sleds sit outside.

I have plenty of places for storage, my garage is full, too many sleds, mowers and motorcycles. I have to get some of this stuff hauled out and into another barn. Curious on what you have to offer as well.
just waiting for my damn seat and its ready for snow for the most part, a little ski wobble this year is going to persist....get some pics up soon, no major changes just clean and polished.
Just seen and read through this post,my 78 Liquifire also has green under the black paint. VIN is J44LG08371M, manufactured 11-77. Makes you wonder if they had issues and replaced a lot of hoods or if they toyed with the idea of green Liquifires.
