yeah im not familiar with bottle feed.. but my engine wasn't hooked up right.. red wire goes to cylinder #2... white wire goes to cylinder #1.. i had those switched... and all it did was backfire.. blue flame sometimes... it didn't hurt my engine.. but once i got it running it ran... for a while anyways.. but i would try that.. one thing.. dont try this near anything that would catch on fire.. it is either going to run... or the backfire is going to get worse... i would take the muffler off if i was you. if theres no gas in the muffler keep it on... but if there is... well take it off.. leave the exhaust manifold on...

You have an odd affection to bottle feeding. That wont tell you anything, it's just a band-aid. Of course it will run if you spray fuel directly down the carb. Listen to what these people are telling you and troubleshoot your system properly, component by component.

ok.. i meant the wires that hooked up to the coils.. but yeah those are probably different.. i dont think you have the same engine as mine... try switching the coil wires.. the red and white wires (where the coils get power from) are probably some place where you cant reach... i would just try switching the black coil wires..

the wires on the spark plugs right? yes the plugs have been changed the wires might be wrong but i though one was made short so it could reach the other spark plug so you couldnt mess it up

Ok.. you took this engine apart... as you just said.. which means you probably disconnected the wires from the coil.. (NOT the spark plug wires) the other wires that give the coils the power.. once you assembled it you probably mixed those wires up by accident...

when i first got it the fuel pump was dirty and didnt work, bottle feed it ran like a top, cleaned pump then it ran but wouldnt rev up or idel and pretty much not good

i had it running and driving goodafter some tinkering , bogged up some yet , well sat over nite flooded nothing has gone right since backfires wont start when you spray gas in carb, take muffler off about a half of gallon in it, that happened twice, ia m working on getting the gas out, installing a shutt off value try to start fresh

never rebuilt, bought it from original owner which it died on him last year cause of fuel trouble, wasent getting enough then

i dunno... rebuild the carb and pump then... thats what the prob is here.. it works as a vacuum/pulse.. so Gravity wont work with this engine otherwise too much will be going in... have the gas tank level or so with the engine... thats all i can really tell you... do you have a walbro carb?
