fan belt

Post by larky1 »

I have searched for the answer, to no avail. I am looking for the correct replacement fan belt for my 76 cyclone 440. part number M65414. The one that is on it is good, just would like an extra stored on the sled just in case.

thanks

Here's a link

For some reason I was thinking they are in the shade tree catalog also I'll have to check on that.

According to JDparts.com the cyclones used two different belts depending on the serial number
M65414 ~ s/n less than 80,000
M67762 ~ s/n more than 80,000

Pats has them both
80 Liquifire (purchased 1996 ~ Running)
80 Liquifire (purchased 2010 ~ Running....Now)
80 Liquifire (purchased 2011 ~ Not running - I officially have a problem now)
83 Snowfire (purchased 2014 father/son restoration project)
78 Spitfire ~ sold (should have been shot for this)

U can take the one off your sled to an auto parts store. They can match it up.

I would recomend u change the belt anyway. I blew up two old sleds last year by having the fan belt break.

A new one will cost less than $10.

Way cheaper than lossing an engine. I wouldn't even trust a NOS because of the age.

Shade Tree Power sports has one size in their catalog also, but I don't see it on their online store.

Here a link to their site

You can get a free catalog, but it's mostly newer model sled parts. Still worth getting though.
