Electric fuel pump for a '75 300

Post by 75greenmachine »

Hi again,
I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried replacing the mechanical fuel pump on one of the Walbro carbs with an electric, or if its even possible?
I was also wondering if, with some slight modification, you could bolt on a 295/s carb to a '75 300?

Thanks,
Liam

Not sure if I'd want a electric fuel pump on a snowmobile, too prone to a fire or explosion, IF something would go wrong, also I wouldn't use a 295/S Mikuni on any sled other than a 295/S or maybe a 340/S. When there are so many other sled MFG's that use 34 mm Mikuni's that aren't in limited or non-existent supply..

A 12 volt electric fuel pump would not run on the AC that the sled provides unless you had electric start with a battery and a DC rectifier.

Another problem would be the pressure that the pump would produce.
And I bet you would have flooding problems.
