Re: No traction
First thing I would check is the condition of the drive belt. If it is old and glazed over, it is time for a new one. Another sign is how far it sets down into the secondary clutch. A new belt will raise above the sheave and a worn belt will be below the outer edge.
Can you get the track to spin if the rear of thr sled is raised off the ground?

Re: No traction
What are you trying to get the sled to move on?? are the skies froze to the ground?
More than likely the skis are rusted & won't move over the snow properly, try rocking the sled up on one ski then the other to get the sled to move then just ride it for a while to get the skies shiny..

Re: No traction
IF the track is already spinning then a new belt is not going to help the movement problem, If the track isn't moving ( spinning ) then a new belt should help..
you might try moving the sled to a different location & then see if it moves under it's own power..
Ski pressure has nothing to do with the problem as your explaining it..

Re: No traction
If you are sitting on a patch of ice, the cleated track will just spin away. The tracks will also spin on black-top and concrete.

Re: No traction
i had this problem with my 80 Liquifire at the second HOF ride we all went on, stuck in the pavement. NEVER did get it corrected. Track spun, front end stuck to the ground, other L-fire's went across just fine, however i was running hard bars, not carbides.

Re: No traction
These sleds are 30 years old. Problems should be expected unless you completely go through the machine, and even then, things still fail.

Re: No traction
DennisKirk should have them as well as Pat's Small Engine. When rebuilding an engine, you must have someone measure the bore to see if it is still within specs for the standard pistons or require an over-bore with over-bore pistons.
