Sptfire skid into a Cyclone?

Post by ski »

Has anyone put a Spitfire skid into a 78 Cyclone for oval racing? Is it even possible (with good results)?

Why would you want to putt a spit skid in a cyclone? If you are looking to do some kind of conversion I would recommend using an 80-84 Liqifire skid and rubber track.

Good point. Does the Liquifire have 2.52 drivers? Is it lighter than a spitfire skid?

Don't know about weight but the drivers are 3.29.

I would think you would want to keep the center of gravity low to the ground for oval racing. By putting any other suspension in your Cyclone it will raise the rear end.
A former member(take it to the limit) used to oval race a 78 back-in-the-day, you may want to contact him. You can find him over at http://www.vintagesleds.com
