Cyclone Ride
I put 180 miles on the 76, 340 cyclone today!! What an awsome exprience. I rode with 9 other sleds that where all newer, and they could not believe that I kept up all day. I'm pretty sore but it was worth it!!
Re: Cyclone Ride
It is a great old sled to ride and yes you should be sore. My 340 made the entire run at Lake Park Old
Timers yesterday, not near that many miles. The 440 won its class for restored sleds and then ignition quit half waydown the trail.

Thats alot of miles to run on any vintage sled in 1 day. You should be sore but I am sure it was worth it. We run over 300 miles quite a few times every year on our newer sleds and even that can be exhausting. Hats off to you-- get out there and run the vintage challenge some year--only 170 miles, you now know you and your sled can handle it. Have fun !!

Re: Cyclone Ride
i have a '77 and they are a blast to ride. Suprising how nippy they are. i wish i had 180 miles of rideable terrain here. Im still happy with our apoprox 60 acres and the neighbor is a farmer so it works out. Plenty of space to zip around. 180 miles is one hell of a day though. Mine seems to run very well and if i was with some buddies would take it on that kind of trip. great sled!

Re: Cyclone Ride
Well I don't get anywhere near that with my 76...but I have been riding it this past week out in the field and having a BLAST!! It's even missing a pretty good chunk of track on the L/H belt, but man does it go through deep snow, and I'm not a light guy at 230-240lbs.
I couldn't imagine 180 miles though.....I put a 100 on my 09 Apex on Saturday and I was beat...you must be in a body cast

Re: Cyclone Ride
I would love to ride in the I-170 race. Just dont have the time or money to build a sled. If anyone wants to build a sled and needs pilot let me know!!
