'75 speedo and tach
'75 speedo and tach
Hi, I'm tearing down my '75 300 right now and noticed that it is wired for a speedo and tach but doesn't have either. The dash has never been cut for them. Did or didn't the 300's have the guages from the factory??? Would adding them detract from the sled if they weren't offered originally?? Thanks, Lance

Re: '75 speedo and tach
They were optional, although it's pretty unusual to see a 300 without a speedometer I think. It would have been available as a dealer-installed option so it wouldn't detract from anything.

Re: '75 speedo and tach
Would it be worth keeping the original dash uncut and buying another dash to put guages in???? I'm thinking that an uncut dash might be more desireable/rare than one with guages, from a collectors standpoint.

If I were doing the resto I would leave the instrument panel alone if it's pristine.

It's in great shape other than a little fading. I'm gonna leave it "as-is".

NOS uncut dashes still show up on occasion. I cut one and installed gauges last fall for my 600, as all my used dashes were damaged.
