first thing we need to know if there are points. an H50 tecunseh could hae either electronic or points. Chances are if it is electronic there will be a coil sitting on top of the flywheel. If not everything is under the flywheel. Ck that. Points can cause no spark condition easily.

I think that tecumseh has a coil sitting on top of the flywheel. I'd also look for any switch wiring that is not tied to ground.

If you were to take a meter and ohm it out you could tell if it is grounded or not. Can you see where the other end of the wire goes to? It will probably go to the coil. With the meter put the meter wires on both ends and flip the switch and see if it goes to 0 ohms or close to it.

Before you go too deep, try pulling off the wire by the steering wheel. Most of the time small engs ae designed with a magneto. Which in the run position is not grounded. To shut it off you ground out the magneto, killing the spark. So I would pull the wire off and see what happens. To relate to the deere sleds it like pulling off the eng connector to see if you have a bad kill switch.
Hope this helps.

Is the bottom of the magneto rusted? if it is clean it off, check the gap from the magneto to the flywheel, you can measure that with a postcard.

I'm not sure on the spark plug wire, but could you post the numbers off of the motor. It should be on the shroud that covers the flywheel. with that we could get a picture of the engine and have a better look at what we're dealing with.

here is a link to a breakout of the engine and the parts needed. http://search.cartserver.com/search/search...ords=h50+65522t

you might want to copy and paste. this will help when we talk about the engine parts.

have you got any spark yet? did you clean the solid state ignition module. check to see if there are any wires that look like they are broken or not connected. Does it have a key switch? is it connected correctly?
