Help on a WDB-31 rebuild

Post by klonteig »

So I have been searching the posts trying to find a reference for a rebuild kit for a WDB-31 out of a JD300E. All the links are too old and broken now. Wondering if anyone has an updated link?

MFG Supply, doesn't seem to have a rebuild kit for the WBD anymore....

Maybe this one?

Carb seems to run fine right now, just thought I should tear it down and give it a good cleaning since 2 year old fuel has been left in it and I want to get it cleaned up before I run it this winter. Is a full rebuild in order? What's the minimum recommended parts if I just tear down and clean?

Thanks for the help!

All we are left with are the diaphragm kits ( aftermarket ). As far as I know, all the pumper carbs used the same diaphragms.

The two year old fuel may or may not be a problem. If it really is running OK, I'd leave it alone. That assumes that it starts and idles OK, and the plug color is good. Now, if the carb diaphragms are 30 years old, you might want to clean and rebuild the carb for the sake of reliability.

I had really good success rebuilding Walbros the first couple of times, more recently it hasn't went as well. No explaination for that either.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking from a reliability side... but seeing as I haven't had it on snow yet, maybe I'll leave well enough alone and try it out first.

Thanks.

I would agree, I'm fairly sure the WDB uses the same fuel pump as the others.
