Are 340 lc and 340 fan pistons the same?

On the fan cooled case reed 1978 KEC/22 Kioritz engine 340 are the pistons the same as the liquid cooled sled? If so are the numbers the same?

They are the same pistons / part number.

Thx harley-- next obvious question..do you happen to know the numbers? I found .040 over fan cooled and .020 over liquid cooled and I don't want to go .040 just yet. .020 should clean up fine. I just want to make sure the parts listed are in fact correct. Ya know, buyer beware and all that..

After looking at several catalogs and the jd parts manual, the pistons seem to be different. I have no experience with the 340 pistons, I just assumed that they were the same since the 440's are.

pn s are 8048 and 8049 for aftermarket ones , ive got stds and .040s if either will help out $60.00 a pr

Compared both and Liquifire's have a greater distance from dome to pin. FYI
