JD 600 issues

Post by ljm »

Hi

Got my 600 dug out and running good in the shed.

Motor was redone 2 years ago and sled was parked.

Starts good (primer kit installed) Sits and idles real nice. Get on and go for a ride runs great till you let off the throttle. Then it bogs like crazy. I have to feather and play with the throttle to get it to move. Once you actually get it going it runs good till you let off the throttle and bog situation repeats.

It has a Bendix carb. I have played with the idle and high speed screws. just when I think it is some better, it starts all over.

I don't have much experience with the Bendix carb.

Looking for sugestions..

Thanks
Lloyd

Could be an over fuelling issue?

What works good on those machines with no alterations is a good rebuilt Walbro carb

Agreed. Bendix carbs won't win any populatity contests.

Does the Walbro carb just bolt on?

One thing you would need is a dual outlet fitting to go in the gas tank.

Lloyd, have you tried just running the idle higher?

Hey Matt

Yes I have, it did not seem to make much difference.

Would a leaky needle and seat cause this problem?

Have seen the check vavles for the primers stick and when you let off the throttle it will draw fuel through the primer lines.
