WTB heat exchanger 78 Liquifire

Post by I500 »

Anybody have an extra heat exchanger for a 78 Liquifire. I tried to use an exchanger from a 80 Liquifire and they do not fit.

Thanks

But we've been telling people for years that is the preferred update.... :bonk:

Hose connector in wrong position and exchanger is too wide to fit...yep, been there, done that. If a guy had access to an aluminum welder an '80 exchanger could be modified, but it would take a bit of time to relocate one connector, the mounting tabs and shave a bit off the end to fit the tunnel. Good luck in your search.

Mitch

I found out the hard way just as you did............. Now I have an extra hole in my Dator :bonk: :bonk:

I knew it was going to be close but my thought had failed.....DO NOT USE AN 80 LIQUIFIRE ON A DATOR OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN AN 80,S LIQUIFIRE.

There, I feel better now.

Well Poop I thought that they would fit with just a little trimming, I didn't think it was all that big of deal as your saying, glad to know.. Chuck there's probably one or more at the Aitkin salvage yard but it'll probably be a couple of weeks or more before I can have anyone up there, that can open up the garage for you to use power tools & you'll probably have to take it out yourself??
Maybe Wade has one out he'd be willing to part with??

I see that there is a 78 for sale down in Necedah Wisconson for $250 OBO, Only problem is that its a 3 1/2 hour drive one way and I would only want suspension, exchanger and windshield. Don't want the rest laying around here......Anybody need the rest?
