okay ive been ofered a free sled and all the guy says thats wrong wit it is that it needs new points and iam already goin to a snowmobile wrecker this weeknd to get parts for my 80 liquifire to get her ready for winter up here in canada were already geting signs of snow but i haveno idea what the points are and do any help would be great thnx

Ignition points, under the flywheel typically. I would assume the engine has spark issues.

i picked the sled up 2day to find it in good condition except the points from what i could see now i was wondering how do u remove the fly weel to get at the points and secound ive been told that if i cant find points theres kits to switch it over to a new system which dosnt reguire points.

There are a couple of FAQs that discuss how this is done on the CCWs.

You need to remove the recoil starter. You should have holes in the flywheel through which you can clean and adjust the points. The flywheel must be removed to replace the points.

I'm no expert on Cats, I'm just talking generalities here.

okay now i need to replace them how do i remove the flywheel?
