Need a track for deeper snow.

Post by vader »

Does anybody know where to get a track for my 1982 liquidfire 440. I do not want to modify the suspension just something to go in deeper snow

I'm not sure there is much clearance between the heat exchanger and the track to accommodate a much taller lug. My advice would be to have someone with a little newer sled break trail for you.

Vader,

Kenny Waters has done two different track updates to an 80's Liquifire. His first was updating to a 116", 2.52" pitch Yami spec track. His second one was to intall a 2.52" pitch, .75" lug 121" modern track to his I-500 Liquifire. I do not know if that 3/4" lug leaves enough room for studs, but I don't think there is enough clearance for a 1" track. In either case, you need to change drive sprockets and slide rail centers. He also had to add larger diameter rear idlers to help take up the extra 6" of track in the 121" case.

I will nudge the Watersboy to pipe in here...
