help 80 sportfire

Post by bernie7434 »

So I was riding along yesterday at a full clip on a warmed up 80 sportfire when engine died. Thought the worse but engine still turns over haven't had a chance to borrow a compression tester but feels the same on the rope. Won't run on ether I do have spark. Could I have jumped time how do I check. Anyone with similar problems. Crank seals are old and I know I need to swap them out.

Are you getting fuel? Pour a small amount of gas down each cylinder and see if it will try to fire. If it does, then you know you are not getting fuel. A lot of times, the fuel line in the tank will get old and crack or fall off above the level of fuel that you have in the tank. Next step is look at you external fuel lines and fuel pump to see if there is a plug or leak.
