Walkerfarms3406,
Please don't take my comment wrong. You said you have it running good, so why are you asking about doing a carb upgrade? I'm thinking you should have a Walbro WRA-31 carburetor on your JDX8. When a Walbro is right they are a very economical carb. They also allow you to externally adjust the high speed fuel supply based on the outside temps. Your other option for a carburetor a Mikuni VM-34 jetted to Cyclone 440 specs. To make any changes to this carburetor you have to manually change jets. As far as electric start, put a ad in the classifieds. You may get lucky and someone may offer up a complete system. Any starter from a 340/22 or 440/22 will work.
I'm game, what do you have a 3406 Cat engine in?

Thanks of the info. I have a buddy that has a few old sleds was just wondering what carbs would work. The 3406 is the cat engine one of my first overhauls.

did you ever swap on a mikuni carb? I'm thinking that is what I need to go to on my x6.
