Greetings from old, wishing to learn
Have a 1980 JD Liquifire with a Kawasaki clutch 1977-78 Patent No's 4051739 and 4052908. Have taken a comet 102-C off of my 1981 parts sled with home made clutch puller. Need info on Kawasaki clutch that is on my 1980 Liquifire, to make a puller and remove. Model no. would help so I can view one on line, and Bolt length and thread size would definitely be a bonus. Is threads on bolt metric, fine thread, etc? have seen 2 on line, one with threads by the bolt head and the other with threads past halfway in towards the crank entry shaft, which one do I need to make?
Next question--- Have read forum on transmission oil replacement on front of engine, and am missing yet where to add oil at. Window, even with flash light is hard too tell oil level. The little hole is clear and clean, that one is suppose to check, Just would like better clarification on add hole location. Have checked chaincase, and oil injection bottle is 2/3rds full. Tank cleaned, old fuel pump rebuilt, with 2 gaskets needing holes for proper working, carbs cleaned. Engine runs, and would like original clutch on it. have 2 correct belts new 68715, and 2 new belts JD for later model Liquifires 69170
Please help before snow disappears, would like to see how much better the 1980 440 is compared to my 1976 liquifire.
Respectfully

Re: Kawasaki clutch removal
I bought a new Kawasaki clutch puller for Invaders and Intruders. I can do some measurements but for as cheap as they are wouldn't just be easier to buy one. I think mine was like $24 shipped.

69 Camaro
First, 69 was a very good year even for Pontiac, I remember all too well. Please send a pic, or tell me model number for clutch puller RE: per my question above. I am cheap, old, and tight.
Thank You for your quick reply, I really appreciate it. Measurements would be awesome.

PS to 69 Camaro
Should the puller resemble the Comet 102C puller with threads next to hex head, correct bolt and thread size might work, bolt cost 3.29 about and sold close by. could than use the 3/8 ths no 8 hardened shaft that I used on pulling the 102C comet. In the mean time I will inspect the Comet I took off of the 2,000 mile 81 parts sled.
Thanks Again

Re: Kawasaki clutch removal
Not to tell you what to do, but the crank and bearings are much more expensive to replace than the $24 puller should you make a mistake. I saw a guy ruin his engine because he borrowed my JD puller to remove a clutch on an Arctic Cat machine. It made me sick to watch the proceedings, but I could not talk him out of it.

Re: Kawasaki clutch removal
Heard an idea on wrapping Teflon tape around the bolt filling the clutch hole with water and the sled set on its side and then screwing the bolt in and let it freeze over night and its supposed to be successful???? Yay or nay on this?

Re: Kawasaki clutch removal
The number 8 hard bolt drilled out 3/8' and 4.5" long with 3/8' no 8 hardnessshaft, grease both ends worked great for me, on my comet 102C clutch on 81. POP it came easy.
Still looking for thread specs on Kawi clutch removal tool for replacing the Kawi clutch with comet 102c (see above)
Appreciate the warnings too..
